How to say "more" in Spanish

"More" in Spanish is más, with an accent on the a. Uno más means one more, and más grande means bigger. Put an article in front and it turns into "the most": la montaña más alta, the highest mountain.

más means more. Without the accent, mas is an old, literary word for but.

More than

Compare with más ... que: El tren es más rápido que el autobús. Before a number, use de: más de diez.

The most

Article, noun, más, adjective: la montaña más alta de América. Spanish uses de where English says in.

More of something

Put más straight before the noun: más café, más tiempo. Nothing goes in between.
