The accent comes and goes

alemán has a written accent. alemana, alemanes and alemanas don't.

Speaking the language

After hablar, drop the article: Hablo alemán. When the language is the subject, keep it: El alemán es difícil.

After the noun

As an adjective it follows the noun and agrees with it: un coche alemán, una ciudad alemana.
